Who We Are
Andrew, Luke and Jame started Melbourne D&D Adventurers League in April 2018 because they wanted people to be able to find a game of D&D in the CBD easily. There was a lot of demand for it, as they saw people asking if anyone had room in their campaign on several social media sites. The problem was, as soon as it filled up, there were no more seats for the huge queue of people still waiting. The time old dilemma; lots of players, not enough DMs!
What is Adventurers League, or AL?
D&D Adventuers League is an official organised play campaign for Dungeons & Dragons that uses 5e rules.
In Adventurers League, everyone must start each character at Level 1. There are some limitations on character creation, which you can learn more about here.
We run at EIGHT locations with the help of our passionate DM volunteers.
Adventurers League has the great feature of giving players the ability to be flexible and drop in/drop out of sessions depending on their availability.
If you've got something on one week, no dramas! Each adventure has been written so that you can play it as a one-off. Some of them have an overarching story too! So if you're wanting more of a campaign feel, AL has that as well.
You can play your AL legal character anywhere in the world Adventurers League is being run. Just be sure to have your logsheet on hand when playing at other venues. If you've started your character with us from lvl 1, we'll probably be less strict about questioning your Level 17 Wizard who has two legendary items!
Another handy thing with AL is if you find you're not meshing well with someone at your table, you don't have to be stuck for the entirety of a campaign. You can just move to another DM/Table next time.
A lot of lasting friendships have been made through our community and we hope you'll become a part of it as well!
We run D&D AL at various locations across Melbourne:
Good Games on Lonsdale St.
Good Games, Greensborough
House of War, Ringwood (18+)
Chip's Loft, Footscray (18+)
General Games, Frankston
Top Deck, Sunshine
Next Level Games, Ormond

Please always double check where you're playing on a given day!
Melbourne D&D Adventurers League is for adults and teenagers 18 and up.
For parents of children who wish to play together, please refer to our Age Policy in our Code of Conduct.
All players must be registered individually with their own DCI numbers.
What else do I need to know?
Participants need to bring a character with them ready to play. If you don't have a character, let us know ahead of time and we can offer you a choice selection of pre-generated characters.
All our tables are beginner friendly! Just let your DM know you're new, or email us ahead of time, and we'll help guide you through the steps you'll need to survive your first games!
COST: Some of our venue stores have a cost associated with play.
Games Laboratory has a flat fee per table, which is divided amongst the players upon arrival.
House of War has a $5 flat fee per person, payable to the store upon entry to the tabled area.
Other Venues have allowed us to play there at no cost to us. Please consider supporting them by buying something when you play.
EVENTS: Sometimes we run one-off events like an EPIC or a convention. MDDAL has had the opportunity to run at ARCANACON 2020, PAX AUS 2019, OZ COMIC CON 2019, CONQUEST 2019, PAX AUS 2018, as well as hosting our own EPIC events.
